St. Patrick's Day Playdate

Cheryl and Luke hosted an early St. Patrick's Day playdate. We all put our best green outfits on and discussed how lucky we are to have such sweet babies that we can stay home with everyday. We met one new friend today, Carter, but all the others are "old" friends.

This picture cracks me up....it appears that Noah is telling some BIG story and Luke, Avery and Parker are all listening....
Our host, Luke....
Big boy Mateo....
Avery....all the boys loved her feathers....
And of course, there is Caroline....

A Weekend With Grandma

This is Gymbo.....
....and this is my Grandma!
Grandma came for a visit this weekend. We went to Gymboree, shopping for some new office furniture and had some photos done since someone will be 6 months old tomorrow. Oh and we tried out a new Mexican food restaurant in Frisco. We were all in bed by 8:30pm Saturday night so that should tell you something. We had a great visit but as always, it's never long enough. BUT, only a few more weeks until we go home for Easter!!!

Cheap Letters!

I was trying to be smart and buy the $4.50 letters, rather than spending $10 on letters. See what we got.....Not enough letters to spell my poor boy's name. Since he is just chewing on them right now, I won't worry too much. However, he will not grow up spelling his name P-A-R-K!!!

This Momma Had to Get Some Sun

Doesn't he look pitiful? He didn't care about going for a walk but I NEEDED some sun. I made sure I covered his ears and around the neighborhood we went. About 15 minutes into the walk, he decided the new stroller position (without the carseat) didn't allow him a view of me. So, I carried him the next 2 blocks! I think he weighs more than 20 lbs. We returned home for a bottle and a nap (a long one I hope!).

BTW, we bought a big boy carseat this past weekend. We've "officially" grown out of the small carseat but we're still using it until we can get the new carseat checked out by the hospital (the install part). It's going to be a big transition since we can no longer just unlock the carseat, with him in it, and go.

The constant changing was something I was not prepared for.....ok, so I wasn't that prepared for much of any of this....HA!

First Ear Infection

By 1pm this afternoon, I knew something more than teething was going on with Parker. He had not had a nap since yesterday morning and he would not calm down. I took him for a ride (to Hobby Lobby, of course), gave him some meds, massaged his gums, fed him some more and even walked around the house with him for an hour. I finally called Dr. Eastman's office for an appointment. After digging (and I mean digging) out tons of wax from Parker's ear, Dr. Eastman noted that the right ear was infected. He said that it could be from when he was sick the last time. I honestly, after reading what causes ear infections, think that Parker has allergies. His eyes constantly water and he sneezes all the time. Anyway, I don't know a lot so we'll give the antibiotics some time. Dr. Eastman has said that he would send us to an allergy doctor if Parker had not improved by 6 months. Our 6 month check-up is on Monday.

In the picture above, Bryan is reading Parker a book I bought him while we were waiting for his meds to be filled (any excuse to buy a new book). I hope that he is able to rest tonight. I also hope that Bryan can rest too.....he's really tired from all the "fun" we had last night. We will now shift our prayers from no ear infections to healing AND hope that the meds will be nice to my sweet boy!

Teething

Parker has been having a time with teething. I called last Friday and talked to our favorite Nurse, Jan. I wanted to know if she had any special tricks up her sleeve to relieve Parker's pain. She mentioned buying some unripe bananas and put them in the fridge to get cold. She said sometimes babies like that....so, we tried it. I had to help Parker with the banana so this picture is not that great seeing that I only had one hand on the camera.

The banana seemed to help for a short time but it started getting gooey and I had to put it away. Millie and Lizzie ate up all the pieces that we dropped.

Then we tried some teething biscuits that Aunt LaLa gave us for Valentine's Day. I DID take Parker clothes off for this....it was a MESS!!! Now I know why we were given these.....all the years of Bryan and me giving Ryan and Emily "messy" toys is now coming back to haunt us.

For now, I guess we will stick with frozen washclothes, gum gel, Tylenol (when it gets really bad) and some finger massage.
