A Glowing Bath

Tonight we topped our fun-filled day with a "glowing" bath! I got this idea off-line and everyone enjoyed it :) So if there is ever a time when your kids are getting tired of the same old bath routine, toss some glow sticks in the tub and turn off the lights!

Pumpkins, Parker & Phrases

Today we visited the pumpkin patch at CUMC across the street (where Parker goes to school) from our house and picked out some pumpkins. I really wanted to take all the white and green pumpkins home, while Parker wanted all the little ones. Bryan was off in the corner figuring out the total in his head...hehe!
This smile cracks me up!This is our new phase.....we smile for the camera but we don't look at it. It's a far cry from where we were 6 months ago when he wouldn't even smile! Baby-steps I tell ya :)

I wanted to fill you in on some of the things Parker is saying that I hope I never forget:

-He calls antelopes, cantaloupes :)
-He says "sure" and "sure can", which I think he got from school
-He says "oh gosh", which he got from me ;)
-He likes to say "NO" and sometimes we get "no-ank-you"
-He does talk in the third person a lot
-Hearing him say the blessing will melt your heart (need to get on video soon!!!)

More Parker news coming soon....

Build & Grow at Lowe's

Last night Bryan and I were mapping out our weekend and I really wanted to go to the Arboretum but Bryan wasn't really feeling it...boo! So, while Bryan was showering, I signed he and Parker up for a workshop at Lowe's {guess that will show him...hehe}. Parker slept late but his parents did not since we had to be at Lowe's at 10am. We made it in time to find a special spot outside, on a make-shift table, that was the perfect height for Parker. So the boys got started.

The boys had fun building the flashing police car and Parker has not stopped "bragging" about what he built :) And on the agenda for tomorrow.....the Arboretum!

Two Year Appointment

We visited with Dr. Eastman today for Parker's two year appointment. Everything is good and the boy is healthy. Here are his stats:

Weight: 31lbs
Height: 36"
75th percentile

Parker got the second Hep. A shot as well as a flu vaccine {by nose}. AND he doesn't have to come back until he is three. REALLY??!!??

The Faces of Summer 2011

This is for my Mom and all of her girls at work that have not seen any pictures of Parker all summer {even on Facebook}. Enjoy!
Mickey Mouse shirt twins :)

Before moving to Colorado, Ian came over to play one last time :(
Reading about Noah's Ark with Grandma
Staying up late to watch the Home Run Derby 2011
Showing off his muscles
Fixing a sprinkler for a friend
Help Mommy with puff pastry
Helping Daddy with the trash
Proud of himself for disobeying...
Parker and Luke not sure about the train ride at Amazing Jake's

The summer did get the best of us and we stayed indoors most of the time but we had a great time nonetheless! We did a lot of learning this summer.....some of it came with tears, some of it came with time-outs but most of it came with laughter and smiles.

We will NEVER forget you Summer 2011 but we are sooooo happy to be stepping into Fall!!!

More Chalk Painting

We all got up at the crack of dawn so that we could enjoy the great outdoors before it got too hot. And so Bryan could mow and so I could wash clothes (since it's so hot, the power company is encouraging people to conserve energy, including washing clothes, during the hot parts of the day). And Parker wanted to "paint the chalk".

Today our chalk colors were purple and yellow. We talked about what God created and Parker wanted me to draw the sun and stars. God also created "boo-ti-full trees" but Momma didn't have enough chalk paint to do trees. :)

That lasted about 20 minutes and then we headed indoors to cool off...

Too Hot To Blog!

I have not blogged in FOREVER and my excuse is the weather! We are close to 40 straight days of temps over 100. Today's high was 105. It's terrible.....I feel like I live in a cave.....my child is climbing the walls.....and we are all in a very bad mood. BUT, I must add a positive with all of this negativity.....my boy has become a little artist :) You see, we are trying our best to not become couch potatoes and so we have been painting, coloring, etc. I will share some photos of all of the things we have been doing soon. I just wanted you all to know that we are still here and have not melted away, yet!
