Starting the Week Off Right!

A Monday playdate always makes Bryan going back to work so much easier! We love it when he's home but I guess someone in the family must work. We went over to Abra and Gaby's house today and there were a lot of Mommies and Babies there! I left my camera at home but Rachel had hers. Here are a couple good ones:

Parker playing with Avery....look at those legs....love them!
Parker doesn't want to play, socialize or crawl....the only thing he wants to do is walk!

Identify This!

Bryan worked outside all day trying to get our yard ready for summer. Since Parker is having a time with his allergies, we tried to stay inside most of the day. However, we couldn't resist going outside for a little bit to get some sun and play in the dirt. So, I thought I would share a conversation we had:

Me: "What is that in your hand, Parker?"
Me: "Bryan, what would you call that?"
Bryan: "Mulch"
Me (to Parker): "Mu-Mu-Mu-Mulch"
Me (to Bryan): "Is there an easier word?"
Bryan: "Bark"
Me: "Parker, say bark. Ba-ba-ba-bark."
Parker: "Daddy, I thought that is what dogs say."
Bryan: "Son, you have to understand that some words have different meanings......"

OK, this is one of those "had to be here" moments but it made us laugh!

Parker Trying Pizza

Tonight we made homemade pizza and it was the first time for Parker to try it. His pizza had canadian bacon and yellow bell pepper (with NO cheese). I also told him that we always eat a salad when we have pizza....so he had cucumber salad as well. The first picture is of Parker using my fork to feed himself. I'm not sure how that happened!
After he was pretty much done, we gave him a whole piece to see what he would do....

Swimming Video

Please excuse the first few seconds of this video. Also, the baby in the background is crying because his father put him under the water and scared the poor boy! Anyway, enjoy the cell video:

Photography Class: A Homework Assignment

For our last photography class, we had to bring the best and worst pictures we'd taken with our SLR. Our teacher critiqued each picture and told us how we could make it better. This was, in my opinion, the best picture:
After looking at it, our teacher couldn't find anything wrong with it. YAY! Now, here is one of my worst and the reason I took the class....the shadowing is terrible and so dark. Our teacher suggested some very helpful ways to fix this:
Now that I am done with the class, I have a lot of experimenting to do. And I have 2 people and 2 dogs that LOVE to be photographed!

Allergies or Teething or Both?

Why, oh why, does this always happen right before a playdate at our house? Tomorrow is National Pretzel Day and Parker was going to host at pretzel playdate! We have TONS of different kinds of pretzels and even some new toys to share with our friends. However, Parker has had a runny nose for a couple days and this morning he started coughing and sneezing a lot. After his afternoon nap, we took him to Pediatrics After Hours and had him checked out. His ears are clear but his throat is yucky! The NP said that it's allergies and if he seems to be getting worse, we need to have our pedi check him. She said that since he's teething too, it doesn't help. So we've rescheduled the playdate so we can keep the other babies healthy, just in case.

The picture above isn't that great but I only had about a second to take it before Parker started fussing again. The outfit was given to us before Parker was born and is an 18 month pj set (go Astros go!). It seemed at the time that it would be FOREVER until Parker could wear it but not so much. He is not even 8 months old and is already wearing 12-18 month clothes! Since Parker is eating table foods now (only baby oatmeal and fruits for breakfast), he is growing and sleeping so much better. While at the dr today, he weighed almost 23lbs! Such a BIG BOY now.
