Today started off early. Parker has been coughing more so he wakes sometimes coughing. This morning it started at 6:20am. He was very fussy after we got him up so after Bryan left for work, I put him back to sleep for an hour. I finished getting dressed and then got him dressed and ready for storytime. Can you tell he is very excited:
There is a new independent bookstore in Allen called A Real Bookstore. It is a very quaint place that reminds me of the bookstore on the movie You've Got Mail. Anyway, a couple of people in our group had been to the storytime and liked it. We decided to give it a try. Joining us were Patty/Caroline, Cheryl/Luke and Paula/Ian. It was not age appropriate for our kids. They were all bouncing off the walls and checking everything else out except the storytime:
We decided to leave the bookstore early and let the kids play at the tot play area at McDonald's (this after we tried to play at the one at Chick-Fil-A and almost lost a kid or two). This picture cracks me up....Parker, Caroline and Ian obviously doing their own thing and not paying attention to what the other one is doing:
After lunch and a two hour nap, I explained to Parker that we are going to the Dallas Zoo tomorrow to learn about rhinos. I read some information about them from a book we have and showed him a triceratops and told him this is kinda what a rhino looks like. Then he colored a picture of a rhino:
His coloring skills are getting a little better: coloring on the page only, holding the paper while he colors and identifies the color (50% of the time he is correct):
