For Love of a Dog

Last night as we were having dinner I noticed a large dog running around the neighborhood. We never see stray dogs around our neighborhood so it was a little odd. The weather had been bad for the past two days with wind, rain, hail and thunder so I just assumed maybe he got out while his owner was gone to work. Bryan darted out the door to see if he could locate the owner. There were several other people from around the neighborhood trying to help as well. About 10 minutes later Bryan came home with blood dripping from his arm and not making a lot of sense. I really couldn't get a lot out of him other than "I need to see a doctor".

So after visiting the ER, spending 3+ hours there, getting a tetanus and rabies shot and some meds, we made it home after 10pm. Parker and I were in our pjs, Parker had spaghetti in his hair, Bryan had blood on the shirt he was wearing (we really just looked like white trash!!!) we had no phones and it was hours past Parker's bedtime! However, we had a lot to be thankful for!

The dog had bitten Bryan twice on the right arm and there are 3 spots that are very deep. The ER doctor told Bryan that you don't want to stitch up those wounds in case infection sets in. So for now, we will keep the wounds clean, Bryan will need to get 3 additional shots and hope that the dog is found safe.

Bryan did go to work mid-day today because he had a presentation to make. His hand is swollen and sore but I think he'll be good in a few days. Prayers for quick healing are very much appreciated!
