The Snowy Day

To continue with our winter theme, today we read the classic story The Snowy Day. Before Parker, I had never heard of this book. It seems that this is the very first book printed in color with a little black boy as the main (or only) character. It is a fun read. I love the pictures, especially the ones with the footprints.

This afternoon when we went outside, Parker did this (I wonder if he remembered it from the book?):

Since it was still cold, icy and sleeting outside, we skipped our playdate this morning and played around the house. Bryan went into work a little late and came home early. Something new we've started doing everyday (we randomly did it last year) is meeting Bryan outside when he gets home from work. Bryan calls on his way home and then I tell Parker that we need to pick up the toys and then we can go outside to meet Daddy. Parker has really been doing good with picking up his toys and putting them away. Parker will usually sit on the sidewalk and wait for Bryan's "blue" car to appear and then he will get up and go over to the car. Parker then gets in the car and rides around to the garage. He loves being in Bryan's car. It's very cute!

Cute boy enjoying being outside....and wondering how to get the ice off his gloves.
